Memorial Day Week-end

I hope everyone is having a safe and sane Memorial Day Week-End. It has been a busy one for our family. The grand-kids came over and we planted the garden, weeded flower beds, had a sleep-over and then a BBQ today. This grammy is tuckered. But what a lovely way to be tired. I took some time last week to play a bit with my Copics and color some new images. This image form Saturated Canary is such a fun color that I can't wait to have a go at it again. I made this card for a friend of mine. She was crafting at my house and had this big sparkly ring on. (See the right hand, lower corner of my card) The whole top of the ring just popped off. She was going to throw it away and I asked to keep it to place on a card. She thought that was so funny...now she is getting it back. LOL! I also used a couple of new dies that I just purchased. I must say I really like both of them. But, I am going to have to work on the creative ideas for the zipper. I added a few liquid pearls and rhinestones to finish off my card.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Delta Dawn
Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on
Could it be a faded rose from days gone by?
And did I hear you say he was a-meeting you here today
To take you to his mansion in the sky.

Lot's of Layers!

 A closer look.
A close look at my stamp
 The finished set.
It is time for another challenge at ABC Challenge. This one will be something all can get into it is "Lot's of Layers". Our wonderful sponsor is "Seven Kid's College Fund". I was thrilled to see that this stamp was still available. I have been wanting it for years and this was a great  excuse to buy. My pretty paper came from a pad that my sweet friend Elaine sent me. I am about to use it up and know that I will have to have more. It has such pretty pinks and greens each page is scrumptious! I used a CC Design Die for the leaves and an old Spellbinders die to frame my image. My Sentiment is from Lily of the Valley and the pretty flowers are from Wild Orchard Crafts.  I hope you will join us for this challenge. I can't wait to see all your pretty layers.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Newsboys
Nothing can separate
Even if I run away
Your love never fails
I know I still make mistakes
You have new mercy for me everyday
Cause Your love never fails
You stay the same through the ages
Your love never changes
There may be pain in the night
But joy comes in the morning
And when the oceans rage
I don't have to be afraid
Because I know that You love me
Your love never fails

Colors of Spring!

A closer look at my image.

A circle sentiment with liquid glass.

This card is for my  good friend Robin. She is always doing special things for me. She just gave me the cutest shelf that she made for me. I wanted to make a card to thank her. We are just now beginning to see warm spring days. I hope these pretty colors will brighten her day. Thanks Robin for being such a special friend!
I popped my sentiment with a foam piece and then added liquid glass and it looks like a metal button. I will have to do this more often. My image is an older Magnolia. (Well, at least 6 months!) My die cuts are from Memory Box and the sentiment was a freebie. I love it. I hope you enjoy my little thank you card.

My Song: Newsboys
Let love explode and bring the dead to life
A love so bold to see a revolution somehow
Let love explode and bring the dead to life
A love so bold to bring a revolution somehow
Now I'm lost in Your freedom
In this world I'll overcome
My God's not dead
He's surely alive
He's living on the inside
Roaring like a lion

If you have not seen the movie "God Is Not Dead" I urge you to go and take a friend! It is a fabulous show!

Rock and Roll

I wanted to make a fun birthday card for one of the teens in our church. She always asks me if I have made a 'special' card for her. LOL! I knew when I saw this cute image from The Paper Shelter that it would make the perfect card for her. I colored the image with Copics and added some liquid glass to the guitar. I also added liquid glass to her cute boots and then sprinkled glitter on the boots. They look terrific in real life! A bit of Spica pen on the mic cord and her cute vest added just the right touch of bling! A pretty little gingham ribbon and bow finished off this fun birthday card!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: That Old Time Rock and Roll
Just take those old records off the shelf
I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock 'n' roll
Don't try to take me to a disco
You'll never even get me out on the floor
In ten minutes I'll be late for the door
I like that old time rock 'n' roll

Love Is In The Air

 Another look!
 A closer look.
 The inside
Hi! Everyone....are you enjoying these May days? I am as it is nice to have warmer days. May days also turns many a thought to love. So, that brings me to our fun challenge at The Paper Shelter "Love is in the Air!
I knew when I saw this lovely image that it was perfect for this challenge! I am sure it wall take many of us on a walk down memory lane. I do believe that life was simpler then and there seemed to be less violence in the world, but perhaps time has clouded my memories. Anyway, I hope you will join us for this fabulous and fun challenge. There are so many wonderful images at The Paper Shelter for you to choose from that you will want to grab one and play along! Who knows you may be our next winner!
I colored my fun image with Copics (the image can be found here)! I added a bit of liquid glass to the tail lights, mirror, and the door handle.  All of my paper came from the scrap box except for the inside and it was from a writing tablet. (I thought it was pretty!) A little handmade flower and some pretty leaves from my friend Glenda finished off my fun card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: The Judds
Grandpa
Tell me 'bout the good old days.
Sometimes it feels like
This world's gone crazy.
Grandpa, take me back to yesterday,
Where the line between right and wrong
Didn't seem so hazy.
Did lovers really fall in love to stay
Stand beside each other come what may
was a promise really something people kept,
Not just something they would say
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddies really never go away
Whoa oh Grandpa,
Tell me 'bout the good old days.

Baby Face

Another fun image from Wee Stamps. Thought I would make this one for our new grandson Lincoln for Easter. The picture doesn't show all the sparkle but all of the clouds are glittered with white glitter. I also added a bit of Spica pen to the duck's wings and the baby pin. I used liquid pearls for an accent and a chipboard heart.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Baby Face
Baby face
You've got the cutest little baby face
There ain't nobody can ever take your place
You baby face

Happy Birthday Logan!

 A closer look!
The fun little sentiment!
Today is our sweet grandson Logan's 7th birthday. He is so excited about being 7 and thrilled that he lost his two front teeth! I thought this cute image from Mo Manning would be perfect for his Birthday card. He will soon be starting baseball so he will enjoy this card.. the cute little baseball goes perfectly with the baseballs in the image.

What's Shakin? Keep it sssssssimple!

 A closer look!
 The sentiment!
 My card!
I would be the first to tell you that I am NOT a snake lover! I don't like them and I avoid them at all costs but when I saw these cute little guys by our lovely sponsor "Oak Pond Creations" I just had to give them a go at coloring. Living in Idaho we are familiar with rattlesnakes although they are not nearly as cute as these three. LOL! Our letter at ABC Challenge is "K" for "Keep It Simple". As you can see keeping it simple is a BIG challenge for me! LOL! The uber fun sentiment is also from "Oak Pond Creations". I added liquid glass to the eyes and fangs of the snakes. For a little sparkle I used a Starlight Spica pen on the diamonds on the the back of the snakes. For a little eye catching interest I dotted liquid pearls around the image and on the sentiment. The buttons finished of my fun card. If you have not been to Oak Pond Creations please check them out as they have some fabulous fun images.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Bob Fosse
If you would like to cure
The fever called life
Get some relief
From all the struggle and strife
The grandest medicine
That I can propose
Is under your nose
A snake in the grass
If you would like a spot
Where life never goes
Where you can leave your body
Home in your clothes
The finest travel agent
You’ll ever meet
Is right at your feet
A snake in the grass

Another attempt at "Keeping It Simple"

I also loved these cute little dragon flies. My daughter loves dragon flies and I knew she would love this card.
