All I Want For Christmas Is You!

I was feeling a bit frustrated yesterday so I made a card to sooth my jangled nerves. As many of you know six months ago our church was burned in an arson fire. We are just now reaching a point where you can visualize what our once gutted church is going to look like. Yesterday someone came by and somehow got behind a security fence. They proceeded to steal a stack of bricks we had removed from the church and had plans for using elsewhere. I am just heartsick that someone did this. I and several others have worked on a "Restoration Committee" to try and put our church back together. It was disheartening to think someone would stoop so low and steal from the church. This was a perfect way to unwind and forget for a moment. I know that this problem is a small one on the big scale of things. So a few hours in the craft room helped.
I am slowly working on my Christmas cards. I was just dying to color this cute little image. I added sparkles for the snow, fun flock for the fur on the jackets and hats. I added liquid pearls on the falling snow. I cut the image and the circle frame with a CM cutter and then distressed the edges.  I added some ribbon snowflakes and a bit of Spica pen. So there is lots of sparkles on this cute image. Little rhinestone hearts finished off this fun card and it is one more to add to my stash and remind me to worry about what is in my heart and not the hearts of others.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: All I Want For Christmas Is You
I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you, yeah.

A Little Thank You Note.

I made this card for a sweet friend in our church. She is always cooking (yummy stuff) and she plans all our church meals, meals for those who are ill or just out of the hospital, funeral dinners, etc. I know she will get a kick out of this image and enjoy receiving a card just to say thanks. I found the little wooden rolling pins at a closeout bin at JoAnn's. I used my Copic pen to color the handles.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:
I dreamed I went to heaven
And you were there with me
We walked upon the streets of gold
Beside the crystal sea
We heard the angels singing
Then someone called your name
You turned and saw this young man
And he was smiling as he came
And he said, FriendYou may not know me now
And then he said, But wait
You used to teach my Sunday School
When I was only eight
And every week you would say a prayer
Before the class would start
And one day when you said that prayerI asked Jesus in my heart
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the LordI am so glad you gave

Cosy and Warm

Autumn Leaves

A Closer Look!

Those who know me know that patience is not one of my strongest virtues. So, when I saw this darling new digi I was so impatient for the ink to dry so I could color it. I know I say this every time but this is one of my favorite digis and you can find her here! Fall is my favorite season and I love walking in falling leaves. I tried to stay with fall colors for this card. All of my DP came from the scrap bin. I added some fall colored flowers from WOC and the cute little tags are from LOTV. I added some liquid pearls and a bit of Spica pen for a touch of glitter. Two little rhinestones finished off my card. So happy fall you all!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Amy Grant
You gave me time
When no one gave me time of day
You looked deep inside
While the rest of the world looked away
You smiled at me
When there were just frowns everywhere
You gave me love
When nobody gave me a prayer
That's why I call you Savior
That's why I call You friend
'Cause You touched my heart
You touched my soul
And helped me start all over again
That's why I love You Jesus
That's why I'll always care
'Cause You gave me love
When nobody gave me a prayer

Many Folds

Happy hump day...this is when everyone starts thinking about the week-end. I love this image from THE PAPER SHELTER  and you can purchase her here! Or, you could play in our new challenge and win her or several other images of your choosing! I think she looks like she is ready for Saturday and some fun! I did have fun putting this card together. Which surprised me as I don't really like gimmick cards. But this one created a scene (of sorts) and I thought  it worked out well. So show us your folds (and maybe you will convince me to try something new!)
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Patsy Cline
I go out walkin' after midnight
Out in the moonlight just like we used to do
I'm always walkin' after midnight searchin' for you
I walk for miles along the highway
Well that's just my way of sayin' I love you
I'm always walkin' after midnight, searchin' for you

How Many Days Until Christmas?

I love this cute little stamp from Wild Rose Studio's. I have had it for a few years and it always makes me smile. The die cut is a birthday present and I could now wait to use it so I just had to make a Christmas card with it. The sentiment was a freebie that I love using. It is something we all need to remember as the Christmas holiday approaches. .I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Ann Murray
I understand their offer, that's totally unacceptable
We have no room for negotiation
Look, I've got someone at the door, call me back as soon as you know ok, bye
This is ridiculous, everytime...
Look, I'm very busy right now, I don't have any extra time, alright
So could you come back, I don't know--LATER?
Oh, they're turned down
Turned upside down
Every room is taken
Short and tall, crowded wall to wall, nearing sleep
I'll knock again, use that wanting in, make the strangers leave
Will we ever get some peace?
Sent away till another day when he'll walk among them
So a man, knocking once again, bringing peace
There are those of the young and old who will not recieve
Saying, "man, we have no need."
Still no room in the inn
Turned away once again
Wants to save everyone but no saving is done
Till there's room in the end

So Very Cute!

I am so excited to share ABC's newest challenge...."So Very Cute". This is going to be a fun challenge as you can pick your favorite "cute" image. I have to admit this one from Sylvia Zett is one of mine. Our challenge is sponsored by Stamp and Create and you can find this lovely image in their store. I colored my image with Copics and added some Spica pen and tiny red rhinestones for sparkle. Don't you just love the cute little crochet flowers? They came from CTMH and I added some pretty brads to the centers. A little paper lace finished off my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My song:
On the bank of the river
Stood Running Bear
Young Indian brave
On the other side of the river
Stood his lovely Indian maid
Little White Dove was her name
Such a lovely sight to see
But their tribes fought with each other
So their love could never be
Running Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love big as the sky
Running Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love that couldn't die

Indian Lake...the trip you should make

I have had such fun with this image. I love the sweet face, but then again I love all the Sylvia Zett images. I also used my fabulous new boarder die. I love the pine needle and they were perfect for this card. My lovely daisies are from Lily of the Valley. I colored my image with Copics and added a few pearls for accent!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
http://tuesdaythrowdown.blogspot.com/
My Song: Cowsills
Indian Lake is a scene you should make with your little one
Keep it in mind if you're lookin' to find
A place in the summer sun
You can swim in the cove, have a snack in the grove
Or you can rent a canoe
At Indian Lake you'll be able to make the way the Indians do

You gotta watch those Zombies!

My grandsons are wild about a game called People vs Zombies. The love to play it and Logan our youngest is a total 'gamer'  when he plays this game. LOL! I cant believe I am already behind in all the technology that is old hand to my six year old grandson!  When I saw this Mo Manning image I knew it would make a perfect card for the grandsons. I am sure they will get a kick out of the sentiment also. It is fun for them to get mail and I always like to pop a card in the mail for them. I must admit that even though this card has no frills that I had fun playing with it and it was an easy 'guy' card for me! I hope your day is filled with blessings! Mine is as this is my "41" wedding anniversary! My husband and I have encountered a few 'zombies' over the years together but I know that I have been blessed to be married to him. Happy Anniversary Steve!
I am entering these cards at the following challenges:
My Song: Michael Jackson
It's close to midnight and something evil's lurking in the dark
Under the moonlight you see a sight that almost stops your heart
You try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it
You start to freeze as horror looks you right between the eyes,
You're paralyzed
'Cause this is thriller, thriller night
And no one's gonna save you from the beast about to strike
You know it's thriller, thriller night
You're fighting for your life inside a killer, thriller tonight

"Are You Scared Yet?".....

I am so ready to say good-bye to this hot dry summer and say hello to fall! We had just a tiny splattering of rain yesterday and it was just enough to make me wish for several days of heavy rain. It would be nice to see enough rain to put out all of the fires around us. I guess that is what has put me in the mood to make a few Halloween cards. I don't normally send out Halloween cards but I thought I would make some for my grandsons to give to their teachers. I love this new, cute little witch from Mo Manning. She is so cute and I am sure would never scare anyone! I colored her with Copics and added a bit of Spica pen to add some sparkle. I also used Stickles around the image to create a bit of magic. The sentiment is an older one and a freebie ,  I am sorry I don't know who to give credit. If anyone knows give me a holler and I will be glad to give credit where it is due. The spider (which matches the colors in my card) came from Oriental Traders. I at first thought the purple and orange combo were a bit gaudy but the more I look at it the better I like it.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Love Is Kinda Spooky
In the cool of the evening when everything is gettin kinda groovy
I call you up and ask you if you's like to go and see a movie
first you said no you got some plans for the night
and then you stopped and say alright
love is kinda crazy with a spooky little girl like you

"Back To School!"

 A closer look...
 and even closer....
If you are looking at the title of my post today you are probably wondering what this card has to do with "back to school"? To explain that I must share a bit with you about my mom. Growing up my parents were hard working and always trying to 'get ahead'. My mom worked in the orchards, took in ironing's and sewed for the whole family. Back to school time meant you would find her at her sewing in the wee hours of the morning making my school clothes. It was only after I was married and had children of my own that I truly appreciated her hard work and how much love she put into each stitch. You might have also guessed by now that our challenge this week at THE PAPER SHELTER is "Back To School". The Paper Shelter has some fun images (this one included) to choose from. So grab one or two, three.... and play with us.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: BJ Thomas
Who's the one who tied your shoe when you were young
And knew just when to come and see what you had done?
Mama, oh Mama
And who's the one who patched your eye and told you not to cry'
Cause he was too big for you to try?
Mama, Mama
And who's the one you didn't need to plead
To give her time to the Little League?
It was Mama, oh, Mama
And who's the one who gave her shoulder
When you told her your first love was over
She'd met someone older, Mama, Mama
It was Mama, my Mama, oh Mama

Let's Go to the Beach!

We have not made a trip to the beach for two years! I love to walk along the beach and pick up shiny little rocks. Just the smell and sounds are exhilarating to me! Maybe next year, until then I will just have to do some fun little cards like this one. I am loving the look of the newer Tilda's. The bigger eyes and longer hair are lovely. I colored this image with Copics and then added some Stickles around her to add some sparkle!
Just a bit of paper lace, some flowered pearls and a ticket sentiment finished off my card!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Beach Boys
Aruba, Jamaica, ooh I wanna take ya
Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama
Key Largo, Montego,
baby why don't we go,
Jamaica
Off the Florida Keys
there's a place called Kokomo
That's where you wanna go
to get away from it all
Bodies in the sand,
tropical drink melting in your hand
We'll be falling in love
to the rhythm of a steel drum band
Down in Kokomo

A "Wee" Christmas Card

I had a bit of time to play yesterday and dug out this wee image to color up and play with.. I had a new Cherry Lynn die that I wanted to use....see that pretty paper lace on the side! It is going to be a favorite of mine! I also added lots of sparkle to this card! Tiny snowflakes with rhinestone centers finish this card off! Just a fun card to add to my Christmas stash! Have a blessed day!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: (John Lennon)
So this is Christmas
And what have you done?
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

Unlimited....Anything Goes!

It is finally September and hopefully the hot, miserable, smoky air will soon be gone. I am actually looking forward to rainy days! It is also time for another challenge at ABC Challenges. Our new letter is "U" for unlimited...or anything goes! We are sponsored this time by "Tilda 'sTown" where you can find some marvelous Magnolia Stamps! I chose this little guy. I have had him for a bit of time and never got to ink him up. Then I decided to make him a girl! (It just fit the mood having pink on my card.) I played a bit with the scraps in my basket to come up with this combination. I hope you will join us this week for the fun and for the chance to win a fabulous prize! Be sure and check out the beautiful inspiration my teammates have created for you! Have a great week and take some time to play!
I bless the day I found you
I want to stay around you
And so I beg you, let it be me
Don't take this heaven from one
If you must cling to someone
Now and forever, let it be me
