Fly The Friendly Skies

A closer look!

 Even closer!

I had a bit of time to color and I just had to color up this cute little image from The Paper Shelter. I have a special friend who is now a flight attendant. She loves jetting from place to place and always keeps everyone posted where she is at (or just leaving). I colored my cute little image with Copics and Twin Markers. I added some lovely rhinestones for some sparkle. The Eiffel Tower was a button that I removed the shank from. The flower is a die cut from Cherry Lynn,  and the paper lace is from Whimsy. This is my attempt at CAS card?! I hope you will check the new images out at The Paper Shelter  I am sending  this card to Savanna. I hope it will brighten her day knowing I am thinking of her!

My Song: I Leaving On a Jet Plane
All my bags are packed I'm ready to go
I'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin' it's early morn
The taxi's waitin' he's blowin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could die
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh baby, I hate to go

Anything But A Card

I know it is a 'bit' early for Halloween. But, I have had these Skinny Cow containers forever and when The Paper Shelter came up with "Anything But A Card" I knew I had to use them up. I plan on putting some sweet goodies in these. My lovely image is Bewitched Night and you can find her here! My pictures are no the greatest as we were having a terrible storm when I took them. You have to love spring weather. I hope  you will join us this week and show us your crafty creations. Be sure and check out my teammates designs  they are lovely. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Eagles
Raven hair and ruby lips
Sparks fly from her finger tips
Echoed voices in the night
She’s a restless spirit on an endless flight
Woo hoo, witchy woman
See how high she flies
Woo hoo, witchy woman
She got the moon in her eyes

Home Where I Belong

I know I have used this image many times, but I doubt I will ever grow tired of it. I always think of my mom when I use this image and I still miss her even though she has been gone for eleven years.
I had fun making this card and loved the reds and Kraft brown together. I also used some yummy burlap ribbon (SU). I added some liquid glass to the apples. I love how it makes them pop! Just a fun card that will go to a special friend for her birthday!
My Song: an old one from BJ Thomas
They say that Heaven's pretty
And living here is too
But if they said that I
would have to choose between the two
I'd go home, going home, where I belong
And sometimes when I'm dreaming
It comes as no surprise
That if you look and see
The homesick feeling in my eyes
I'm going home, going home, where I belong
While I'm here I'll serve him gladly
And sing him all my songs
I'm here, but not for long
And when I'm feeling lonely
And when I'm feeling blue
It's such a joy to know that
I am only passing through
I'm headed home, going home, where I belong
And one day I'll be sleeping,
When death knocks on my door
And I'll awake and find that
I'm not homesick anymore
I'll be home, going home, where I belong

Pretty In Pink

I think I have found a new favorite color combination...pink and green. I think that it is so spring like don't you? It is also time for another great challenge at ABC Challenge. This time our letter is 'P' and our challenge is Pretty In Pink. So grab your pinks and make a card! Our lovely sponsor for this challenge is My Favorite Things. I colored this cute image with Copics and then decided to put liquid glass on the inside of the frame. (OK....I forgot about the thumb that was sticking out until I had all the liquid glass squirted  all over it. I loved the cherry paper. I can't tell you were it came from but I wish I had more of it. The ribbon on the right side of the card and the bow were a scrap piece. I added two pink cherry stickers and some cute little daisies. A little paper lace and a paper doily completed my card. I hope you will join the fun and be sure and check out the fabulous teammates work they are beautiful!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:  Reba
When darkness falls upon your heart and soul
I`ll be the light that shines for you
When you forget how beautiful you are
I`ll be there to remind you
When you can`t find your way
I`ll find my way to you
When troubles come around
I will come to you
I`ll be your shoulder
When you need someone to lean on
Be your shelter
When you need someone to see you through
I`ll be there to carry you
I`ll be there
I`ll be the rock that will be strong for you
The one that will hold on to you
When you feel that rain falling down
When there`s no body else around
I`ll be

Under The Sea

I had such fun coloring this lovely image. I have never found a Wee Image that I didn't like. But this one has
such a sweet face! I spent hours picking the perfect paper and then covered most of it up...Arrrr! I hope your week-end is shaping up nicely and you are enjoying your Friday. I have had a busy week. It is "Cherry Festival" time in our little home town. So, I have helped to clean the park (to earn money for our church kids to go to camp), taken the grandsons to the carnival....ohhhh I AM to old to ride those rides....and tonight is the kids parade with the big parade tomorrow night! LOL....I will sleep well Sunday night. Plus, I have been fighting a horrid bug. Sunday is Father's Day.....Happy FD to my husband and my son.

My Song: Under the Sea
The seaweed is always greener
In somebody else's lake
You dream about going up there
But that is a big mistake
Just look at the world around you
Right here on the ocean floor
Such wonderful things surround you
What more is you lookin' for?

You Gave Me Love....

I don't often color with orange. Really don't know why but it is probably my least favorite color. Still, I thought I would give it a chance and I must admit I am OK with this card. Not jumping up and down but OK! LOL! As you can tell I have had it around since Easter. I tend to push my less favorite cards to the back of the box when I am giving them out. I added a few little sheer flowers that  bought from a discount place. The butterflies on the side are a MS punch.
I will probably save this card until next Easter and then find someone who likes orange to give it to! LOL!
My Song: BJ Thomas
You gave me time when no one gave me time of day,
You looked deep inside while the rest of the world looked away,
You smiled at me when there were just frowns everywhere,
You gave me love when nobody gave me a prayer.
That`s why I call You Saviour ..... that`s why I call You Friend,
You touched my heart ..... You touched my soul,
And helped me start all over again,
That`s why I love You, Jesus ..... that`s why I`ll always care,
You gave me love when nobody gave me a prayer.

A Perfect Love--Happy Birthday Traci!!

Today is my daughter's birthday. This image always makes me think of her. Happy Birthday Traci! I wish you a lifetime of perfect love.
I have so much fun with this little image, I feel like I have gotten my money's worth out of it as I have used it several times on my cards and will use it more in the future. I colored the image with Copics. All of the papers came from my scrap box. I added a new die cut and some liquid pearls. I didn't add a lot of embellishments as I wanted my cute little image to be the focal point! I hope you day is filled with blessings!
My Song:
Sunday mornin' when the paper comes
Let's read it front to back and see what's going on
Drink our coffee by the flower bed and talk about the stuff
That's running through our heads
When you look at me the way you do
I can't help but look right back at you
Yeah, this is a perfect love
We're doin' nothin' but what a perfect love does
We're not tryin' to make history
It's just you and me
In a perfect love

This is another free coloring page. I wanted to do a card that had muted colors. I think I like this color combination? The seam binding bow picks up the color of the tennis shoes. I added some iridescent rhinestones and some  WOC roses. Just a fun little card. Have a day filled with blessings!
My Song: Trisha Yearwood
She loves the ones with all that wounded pride
The ones who carry all that hurt inside
Who never seem to find a place they belong
She's got a heart like a sad song
And she will give them all the love she can
Even when love won't give her half a chance
And she will stay with them till all hope is gone
She's got a heart like a sad song

A smile and a Song

Have you ever had a card that proved to be a bit challenging? This card was it for me! It is also proof that you can fix just about any mistake. First I colored the image . Everything went pretty well with that. Then I got the not so brilliant idea that I would use a stylus and bow her face out a bit. Don't ask me why but the next thing I was looking at was a big hole where the face should have been. So off to color another face and then fussy cut it and then glue it on top of the ruined face. (Sort of like plastic surgery!) LOL! Next I wanted to add just a bit of red pen to the vest. When I popped the lid off my pen  two little drops of red ink spattered on the page by the image. Arhhhhh! Out came the liquid pearls to cover those. By this time I am ready to  trash heap the whole thing, but then. I was feeling a bit stubborn that day. Next I glued on my lovely flowers from WOC. Of course I had a bit of glue on my fingers and touched the center of the flower, off came the pretty fuzzy center. Of course i didn't have any flower soft that color so after a bit of pondering I used Stickles to add so bling.  Whew....a bit of a challenge there! Anyway, you get the picture, what should have been an easy card took forever...but it is done! I hope you will join us at The Paper Shelter this time. The challenge is Flower Power....we want to see lots of flowers on your cards. Maybe your card will be easier for you! Have a wonderful day!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: A Smile and a Song (from Snow White)
With a smile and a song
Life is just a bright sunny day
Your cares fade away
And your heart is young
With a smile and a song
All the world seems to waken anew
Rejoicing with you
As the song is sung
There's no use in grumbling
When the raindrops come tumbling
Remember, you're the one
Who can fill the world with sunshine
When you smile and you sing
Everything is in tune and it's spring
And life flows along
With a smile and a song

Can You See Me Now?

I have a dear friend who has failing eyesight. She struggles daily to see things that you and I take for granted. She mentioned to me that she has such a hard time finding her checkbooks, (hers, husbands, & churches). All of them are a dark blue/black color and once they are in her purse or lying on a dark surface that she can not see them. I decided to make her bright and colorful check book covers so she would not have that problem. I  made each one a different color so she could tell each one apart. It was a simple project that I hope will brighten her day. I used two images from Saturated Canary and a Magnolia. I colored the images with Copics and Twin markers. I used simple flat embellishments since I wanted the checkbooks to lay flat!
My Song: Lean On Me
Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain, we all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow
Lean on me when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend, I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need somebody to lean on

Don't Fence Me In!

A closer look....

How about that barbed wire fence?

I had such a fun time making this card. The image is from our lovely sponsor "The Paper Shelter". I just fell in love with her and thought she was so sassy in her boots and hat. I had a bit of scrap 'barn' paper and some burlap. I knotted a bit of  twill for my rope. My lovely barbed wire fence is a die cut from MFT. I love it and know I will use it many times more. I colored my image with Copics and Twin Markers. You can find both of these at our other lovely sponsor Marker Pop's. Our Challenge this week at ABC is "O" for open....that's right anything goes. There is no excuse not to enter a card! or a ????? cause anything goes!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:
O give me land, lots of land, and the starry skies above
Don't fence me in
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love
Don't fence me in
Let me be by myself in the evening breeze

Listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever but I ask you please
Don't fence me in
